The new AGLC Liquor Distribution Centre will be the primary facility in AGLC’s warehouse network, handling all fast moving product and serving as the central hub for order assembly and shipment. It is designed to support the continued growth of Alberta’s private liquor model.
Located off Anthony Henday Drive, the new liquor distribution centre is 543,000 square feet in total, with 470,000 square feet dedicated solely to warehouse space. The facility contains the AGLC main office, dock offices, and 45,000 square feet dedicated to Mechanical and Electrical equipment.
The 470,000 square foot warehouse, roughly the size of eight football fields, has a storage capacity of over 70,000 pallets of product: this equals 230 olympic-sized swimming pools, or 3.2 billion 6oz glasses of wine. The facility was constructed using 7,000,000 pounds of structural steel and over 2,800 concrete piles.
Construction was completed in the summer of 2018.
